I have always felt if I found my style, my angle, that I would be able to produce genuinely amazing work. I don't feel that that has happened for me. I have had flashes of brilliance, but a steady stream mediocrity. Part of the reason is the time I spend preoccupied with my various personal and financial problems. But I'm going to keep trying, in the hopes that I will discover the place within myself from which I am able to produce genuinely great stuff. But for now I'm disappointed with my body of work. And I'm jealous of just about everyone else, and their awesome art. I do feel that I find work more interesting if it looks like there is some struggle, or feeling in it. If its just super flick, technical work, then it's boring for me. If its just a demonstration of how technically proficient someone is, then who cares. I might as well be looking at the graduating show from a very prestigious school for illustrators.
